West Bay: bindings
At the beginning or at the end of the route around the peninsula, towards the western bay, which is almost always serene and sheltered, we see on the rocks, over the deep water, traces of the ancient anchorages.
Carved grooves (dents) on the rocks of thirteen centimeters diameter and no more than thirty centimeters depth, were used as bindings of the ancient ships. In these holes they placed poles with which they tied the ships and waited for being loaded, or for the raging sea to get calm before setting off for their destination.
