The settlement of Maronia, under the Ottoman Empire, was ruled by the general meeting of residents, the elders, the Committee of the Churches and the Ephorate of Schools. Works of this period are the churches, the stone streets and the School of Maronia, donation of Hatzeas brothers, which was erected in 1908 and functioned until a few years ago, as a Primary School. At the same time, under the Ottoman Empire, public fountains are constructed, providing running water in every neighborhood and making the residents’ lives more comfortable.
