We are informed about the history of the school from the marble inscriptions, which were restored in 2005, by the PAKETHRA, and are located at the main entrance. From the inscriptions we learn that in 1903, over Ottoman rule in the city, the building takes its present form after being renovated and inaugurated by the Greek, Orthodox, Community of Xanthi. This is indicated by the second, restored marble plaque on the right of the building frontage. The inscriptions were destroyed by the Bulgarian rulers of the city, in 1942, in an attempt to eliminate any Greek element in the area.
