Traditional Architecture
The financial health of the residents is displayed on the construction of urban houses, while using traditional techniques. Many of the houses of the people of Maronia, ranging from two-storey ones, to stone mansions or even more humble houses, all had lofts, enclosed balconies and loggias, often with large, wooden gates with large pins nailed to the wood. All these houses were built with materials from the local region and they have embedded, on their exterior sites, as decorative elements, several architectural pieces, ancient inscriptions and column capitals, all coming from the close by archaeological site.
